Royal Arcade

What is the project?

A development agreement has been signed for the Royal Arcade scheme and work to demolish the vacant shops is well underway – with the whole site due to be cleared by spring.

The scheme will include:

  • a new bus station with an enclosed passenger waiting area
  • a 400-space multi-storey car park
  • leisure, restaurant and retail units, and
  • a new state-of-the-art cinema.

Over the next year, the council will also continue to progress plans for Crewe to become the location of a new state-of-the art history centre to co-host the region’s archive.

The town centre regeneration programme – which includes public realm improvements – has a key role in kick-starting preparations to make Crewe ‘HS2 Ready’.

We want to hear from you.
