What is the project?

The Pockets Park project is being led in partnership by Cheshire East CouncilAnsa Environmental Services – the council’s wholly-owned environmental services company – and Crewe Town Council.

It aims to see eight pocket parks in Crewe become more attractive and better equipped spaces for people to spend time, play and enjoy physical activity.

The first four pocket parks, were completed in 2024. They are located at Queen Street, Derby Docks, McLaren Street and School Crescent. Images showing the four sites are below.

Local communities are being asked to share their views as plans for the still to be completed pocket parks develop, to help shape the final designs. We have recently completed consultations on Samuel Street and Lime Tree Avenue. Valley Park and Westminster Street will follow in 2025.

As part of the overall project, local charity The Wishing Well, which provides a variety of services to improve the health and wellbeing of local people, is proposing to deliver a multi-use games area (MUGA) near to Jubilee Gardens in Hightown.

We want to hear from you.
