Jasbir Dhesi OBE, Cheshire College South & West

Known as Dhesi, I am the Principal and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Cheshire College – South & West and have over 24 years’ experience in senior leadership roles across 3 colleges. I am a qualified teacher and have previously been the Principal/CEO of South Cheshire College and Yale College.

Cheshire College is the largest provider of post-16 education across Cheshire, with its main campus located on Dane Bank Avenue in Crewe. Catering for over 11,000 learners, including over 4,000 full-time 16-18 year olds and 1,300 apprentices.

I passionately believe in the ability of further education to help transform lives and communities.  I have a proven record of working with employers and partners to support economic growth and development of Cheshire and the wider region.

In addition to being a member of Crewe Town Board, I am a Director of Cheshire Commonwealth Association, Blacon High School Trust, a trustee of Shavington Academy and Chair of North Wales Science Board. In 2019 I joined the Cheshire Police & Crime Commissioner’s Anti Bullying Commission.

As a member of the Employers’ Skills and Education Board of Cheshire & Warrington Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) I represent all Cheshire and Warrington colleges and training providers.
