Meet the board
Pastor David Edwards, The Lighthouse Centre
I have worked at senior leadership level in local government and have a background working with young people in care and social work. I am a Pastor in my community, a foster carer and am the driving force behind the charity, Always Ahead.
Since moving to Crewe 10 years ago, it has become my home-town which I love and where I am passionate about joining with others to see the town reach its full potential.
I am driven by my desire to support everyone living in Crewe, but particularly those who are the most vulnerable in the town.
At The Lighthouse Centre, where I am the Pastor, we have the privilege of serving the most disenfranchised in the local community (the homeless, those with mental health issues, those in need, socially and economically) who are receiving much needed help and support. Over the past ten years we have developed close links with other local charities, businesses, community groups along with the Borough and Town Councils to help address local needs.
I want to see positive opportunities created for everyone, we would love to be able to work with young people to raise aspirations, and to create spaces for charities and community groups in the town.
It’s about … contributing to the town’s vision for economic, social and environmental transformation.
Being part of a successful Towns Fund bid for Crewe is about making projects and ideas a reality and contributing to the town’s vision for economic, social and environmental transformation and making a tremendous difference to the lives of the people of Crewe.
