The new chair of Crewe Town Board, Tony Davison says he wants to recruit new board members who can ‘bring forward their personal and profession experience as the board moves forward into its delivery stage and starts to think about a new future.

2024 is a big year for Crewe. The new bus station is opening along with the multi-storey car park. And on a wider note, the nine projects supported by the Towns Fund are all expected to start on site and the first four of the eight pocket parks are being delivered.

Now is the time to think about the future and progress the Crewe Investment Plan. The board have a number of vacancies and are wanting to seek people from the hospitality sector, arts and culture and individuals who can represent our communities.

Mr Davison said: “Our ambition is to ensure the strategy is right and to make sure we deliver for Crewe and its communities, which will continue to bring forward the long-term benefits.

“We are now in a position where we have funding approved for a package of nine fantastic projects and real action on the ground.

“I would encourage local business and community leaders to seize this opportunity to help shape the ongoing regeneration of Crewe, through a collaborative and partnership-based approach.”

The board – which includes the MP for Crewe and Nantwich and representatives from Cheshire East Council, Crewe Town Council and Cheshire South and Cheshire College South and West – is reflective of the different types of stakeholders needed to deliver successfully for the town, while also making sure that the different interests of the town are represented  to drive forward Crewe’s ongoing growth and regeneration.

Expressions of interest for the roles should be sent by Monday 15 April to business@cheshireeast.gov.uk  For a confidential chat, please contact Tony Davison initially by email at tdavison@crewealex.net

A final decision on the recruitment will be made by a Crewe Town Board panel.
